Are you a recent Disaster Management post-graduate passionate about learning work skills and contributing to disaster management and emergency planning at the grassroots level with a major focus on CBDRR? EduCARE India is offering a 1 to 2-year paid fellowship to work in the Kangra region and surrounding districts of Himachal Pradesh. This unique opportunity will allow you to work directly with government departments, professionals, other organisations and the local communities, developing essential disaster awareness, preparedness and resilience training and planning resources.


This fellowship will provide hands-on experience in disaster management, emergency planning, environmental health and safety, public health, social work, and rural development, equipping you with valuable skills to advance your career in disaster management and sustainable development.


Disaster Management and Emergency Planning Project Manager


EduCARE India is currently recruiting fresh post graduates / young professionals in the field of Disaster Management and Emergency Planning (DMEP) to undertake a 1 to 2-year fellowship at our Emergency and Disaster Management Resource Centre located in rural North India as a Project Manager. Our DMEP Programme was established in 2015 and is continually being developed; our current areas include Community Disaster Risk Reduction, Emergency Planning / Preparedness, preparing Disaster Management Plans, Hazard Mapping and Scenario Modelling, Landslide/Earthquake and Flooding Mitigation, Training and Capacity Building. These suggestions are not extensive and new project ideas are positively welcomed and encouraged by our team members. Fundamentally the DMEP programme aims to ensure the communities we work with are aware and appropriately educated on the potential risks (natural and human) that may impact their lives; so that they can be pre-prepared and respond effectively with resilience.

There will be a 1-month probation to validate the candidate's induction, adaptability, ethics, commitment, and performance. With the main goal being about real work experiential learning for career advancement, we are only looking out for self-driven, committed and ethical Fellow employees who will also get free shared accommodation, meals in the organisational hostel facility, internet-enabled workspace, apart from reimbursements of work-related pre-approved public transport expenses. The ones looking for only huge salary packages may please avoid applying for this job opportunity.

This award is not valid for Short-term interns, i.e. 3 to 9 months THOUGH free shared accommodation, meals in the organisational hostel facility, and internet-enabled workspace, are provided. Interns' work will be reviewed weekly and evaluated after 3 months to check for any possibility of a basic monthly stipend that may cover their care, living and travel expenses. There will be no stipend for short term interns at least for the first 3-months)
